This past November, several team members attended the 4th International Consensus Conference on Concussion in Sport which was attended by 180 doctors and researchers from 20 countries around the world. Ian Pike, Shelina Babul, and Carolyn Emery attended the meeting and took part in the 2 day open discussion around key components related to recognizing, diagnosing, treating and managing concussions. In addition, Kathryn Schneider was asked to present as part of an expert panel and remained for the consensus discussion. Winne Meeuwisse was a member of the Scientific Organizing Committee, Co-Chaired the meeting, lead the development of the Sport Concussion Assessment Tool 3rd Edition (SCAT3) and is the second author of the Consensus Statement. The Consensus Statement will be simultaneously co-published in a number of journals. The first release will be on the British Journal of Sports Medicine and the Clinical Journal of Sport Medicine websites on March 11th.
